UPDATE FROM AVENIDAS
We recently received an update from Avenidas, a non-profit organization serving older adults in Palo Alto and its surrounding areas.
Tablets donated by Noviaris have been key to engaging Avenidas’ clients with technology. The tablets are currently used in classes where “students” – Avenidas’ older adults – don’t have their own devices, or in 1:1 tutoring sessions where older adults want to learn more about the often-elusive mobile world. Tablets are also available in a “library” format for Avenidas’ clients to use throughout the day.
The tablets are particularly effective devices for Avenidas’ population because they are easy to use, and often encourage their older users to invest (should they have the resources) in their own devices.
Avenidas has also used the iPads in administrative areas: For example, during their recent tech conference they deployed twenty iPads, which helped to capture real-time “customer” sentiment. Avenidas plans to use the collected data to better understand what upcoming products could greatly increase the quality of life for their older adults. Avenidas has also used to iPads to test new internal systems before deployment, such as their CADCARE system.
